Mining rescue drill in the tunnels of the Divača-Koper second track

On Friday, 10 November 2023, the 47th meeting of the Slovenian Mining Rescue Units and a mining rescue exercise entitled “Accident in the tunnels of the Divača-Koper Track 2” will take place at the construction site of the Divača – Koper Track 2, near the T7a tunnel, at 12:00.

The exercise will simulate the rescue of people and material goods in the event of an accident caused by a strong earthquake, which caused short circuits in electrical installations, resulting in a fire, as well as injuries to workers who were working in the tunnel at the time of the earthquake.

The rescue drill will involve the rescue units of Velenje Coal Mine, Trbovlje-Hrastnik Mine, Idrija Mercury Heritage Management Centre and Petrol Geotherm, d.o.o. Representatives of the Mining Inspectorate, Civil Protection, Fire Brigades and medical personnel will be present.

Prior to the rescue exercise, at 9 a.m. in Dekani, in the container complex, an expert consultation on the protection and rescue system in Slovenia in the event of various disasters (floods, cave rescues, etc.) will be held for the professional public.
