About the company
The company 2TDK, d.o.o., is a project company for the development of the second track, headquartered in Ljubljana and 100% state-owned. It was established by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia in March 2016, with the aim of carrying out all necessary activities in the preparation and construction phase of the second track and its management during the duration of the concession agreement.
The establishment of a project company enables the budget to be relieved and the application for European funds
The model of financing an infrastructure project through a project company is a novelty in the practice of implementing investment railway projects in Slovenia, but not abroad.
Such a model is a constant practice of large infrastructure projects in the European Union, for example in Austria, Germany, Denmark... The establishment of a project company enables the relief of the state budget, the participation of hinterland countries and the application for some new European tenders, in which it is possible to obtain up to 30 percent of European grants for the construction of the Second track.
This method of financing represents a developmental leap in the financing of public railway infrastructure, similar to what the establishment of Dars meant 20 years ago in the construction of the Slovenian motorway system. With the entry into force of the Second Track Act, the conditions were created for accelerating the modernization of the railway network in Slovenia.

For many years he was the Technical Director and a member of the Management Board of the Laško Group, as well as a member of the Management Board of Pivovarna Union d.d. and Pivovarna Laško d.d. Between 2019 and 2021, he was also the CEO of the Lipica Stud Farm Holding.
Marko Brezigar
Director
Marko Brezigar is a university graduate civil engineer, an expert in the field of railway construction, who was, among other things, the project manager for the construction of a new line between Slovenia and Hungary. During his professional career, he was also the director of the company SŽ Infrastruktura d.o.o., which operates in the field of railway infrastructure maintenance, traffic management and investment engineering.
