About the viaduct Glinščica
The construction of the Glinščica viaduct was a precondition for the start of the construction of the Lokev (T1) and Beka (T2) tunnels on both sides. It is designed as a closed box reinforced concrete structure. The innovative design of the viaduct allows for adequate ventilation of the Lokev (T1) and Beka (T2) tunnels and protection against derailment, wind, noise and emissions in the protected Beka Landscape Park. The Glinščica Viaduct will connect the 6.7-kilometre Lokev Tunnel 1, the longest tunnel on the Track 2 route, and the 6-kilometre Beka Tunnel 2 into a single tunnel almost 13 kilometres long.
