The company 2TDK participated yesterday in the international professional project management conference IPMA SENET. It is a regional project conference with participants from Southeast Europe (ranging from Turkey, across the Balkans, to Poland). The conference is held in a different country every year, and this time, under the auspices of the Slovenian Project Management Association, it took place in Kranjska Gora.
At the conference, Marko Žitnik, Head of the Technical Sector at 2TDK, presented the project of constructing the second railway track from Divača to Koper, one of Slovenia's key infrastructure projects. He outlined some of the main challenges and opportunities project managers face in planning and executing such a complex construction project. During his presentation, he showcased the use of advanced digital tools, such as BIM models, which allow for efficient project monitoring, and emphasized the importance of environmental care and sustainable practices.
Žitnik also provided a more detailed overview of the second track construction project and the company 2TDK itself, highlighting key construction milestones, the significance of the second track for both the European and Slovenian regions, as well as the organizational structure and project management within 2TDK.
The conference also featured a range of other interesting presentations, such as one on project management within the European Union, discussing the challenges and strategies for managing complex decision-making processes, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and achieving effective results within one of the most influential EU institutions – the European Commission. There was also a discussion about managing the JEK2 project, focusing on risk reduction and ensuring sustainability.
The conference addressed topics such as effective project management, examples of best practices, and the establishment of management criteria for infrastructure projects in the region.
