The management of 2TDK visited the construction sites of the Second Track today to review the progress of work along the entire project route. This is part of the regular field visits by 2TDK's management, during which they also familiarize themselves with any current challenges faced by the contractors in executing the work. On-site, they observed the progress in the construction of tunnels, viaducts, and other infrastructure elements that will contribute to the modernization of the railway connection.
Special attention was given to sections of the route where the project faces challenges, such as geological complexities in the Glinščica valley and the bridging of karst phenomena in Tunnel T2.
The management of 2TDK expressed satisfaction with the work ongoing at the pre-tunnel area near Divača and also reviewed the completed relocation of karst cave No. 66, as well as the current phase of the works to bridge karst cave No. 80. Both karst phenomena are located in the main tunnel of Tunnel T2.
Intensive work is also underway in Tunnel T8, where daily progress is visible in laying the track on a rigid foundation. The management was also briefed on the implementation of works using a mass spring system designed to reduce vibrations and noise. This system will significantly reduce vibrations and noise during the operation of the track, especially in areas along the Divača–Koper railway route that are heavily populated.
Together with contractors and supervisors, the 2TDK management discussed potential solutions to accelerate the work and ensure the timely completion of the project.
The management emphasized the importance of high-quality and safe execution of the works and the effective resolution of challenges, all of which will contribute to the successful realization of the project.
