Transformer stations on the second track

A total of 44 transformer stations will be operational along the second track—33 of them will be located in tunnel crossings, while the rest are standalone structures in front of the tunnels. The photos show the construction of some of the transformer stations located outside the tunnels, as captured over the past few months.

The substations will house equipment for converting and distributing electrical power to supply the low-voltage network from the 20 kV network. In addition, they will house emergency lighting systems, safety installations, ventilation, video surveillance, and equipment for railway signaling, safety, and telecommunications devices.
