Film about the Beka Landscape Park – Nature that Connects
Based on the Agreement on the implementation of compensatory measures along the route of the Second Track of the Divača–Koper railway line, a documentary film was created that reveals the exceptional natural and cultural heritage of the Beka Landscape Park.
The Beka Landscape Park stretches along the picturesque gorges of the Glinščica and Griža streams, where flysch and carbonate rocks meet and create unique natural features—from waterfalls and narrow valleys to sinkhole caves. This geological diversity enables an exceptionally rich variety of habitats, home to many protected and endangered plant and animal species, such as orchids, butterflies, amphibians, birds, bats, and saproxylic beetles.
In addition to its natural treasures, the film also highlights the rich cultural heritage—from the remains of mills and dry-stone walls to archaeological sites and the abandoned Trieste–Hrpelje railway line, all of which testify to the historical role of the Glinščica valley as a natural passage between the Karst plateau and the sea.
