Representatives of the Railway Transport Agency on the second-track route

Agency representatives visited the site to familiarize themselves with the current status of the project and the activities underway in its final phase. Most of the work is currently focused on LOT 3, where electrical and mechanical equipment is being installed and individual systems are being inspected and tested. Due to the large proportion of the line running through tunnels and their length, systems and solutions were also installed on the second track that have not yet been implemented on the Slovenian railway network to this extent.

During the visit, representatives of the Slovenian Railway Safety Agency (AŽP) took a closer look at the Škofije Tunnel, the last tunnel on the route before Koper, where they also inspected the cross-passages and their equipment. They continued the tour at the Vinjan Viaduct and concluded their visit to the route in the Glinščica Valley.

The visit is particularly important in light of the project’s next steps. As the competent safety authority, AŽP will participate in procedures related to meeting the conditions for the commencement of operations of the new railway infrastructure. Cooperation and timely familiarization with technical solutions and the situation on the ground are therefore important even as the work is being completed.
