The European Court of Auditors confirms that the Second Track project is on the right track
The European Court of Auditors has concluded its audit related to the Second Track Divača–Koper project. The six-month audit was completed without remarks.
The audit by the European Court of Auditors is one of the highest standards of oversight regarding the use of EU funds and the implementation of major infrastructure projects. During the audit process, representatives of the European Court of Auditors reviewed relevant documentation, including documentation on construction sites, visited the sites themselves, and conducted several interviews with project stakeholders. The conclusion of the audit without remarks represents an important confirmation of proper project management and of transparent and responsible implementation practices.
In the recent period alone, three external audit procedures have been carried out—alongside the European Court of Auditors, a financial audit was conducted by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), as well as an audit by the Budgetary Control Office. Despite months of document reviews, none of the institutions identified any irregularities in the operations of 2TDK or in the management of the Second Track project.
The results of these procedures further confirm that the Second Track Divača–Koper project is being implemented in accordance with the highest standards of oversight, transparency, and responsible management of public and European funds.
