The injured worker is recovering well

On Friday, 28 November 2025, a workplace accident occurred at the Second Track construction site in the Beka tunnel (T2). The injured worker was treated on site by firefighters and emergency medical teams and was then transported by helicopter to the University Medical Centre Ljubljana.

According to the latest information, the worker is recovering well. He has fractures of the 14th and 15th thoracic vertebrae, and a surgical procedure will most likely be required in the coming days.

The worker is conscious, communicative, and is feeling relatively well given the circumstances. CT scans did not reveal any additional injuries.

The accident occurred in a cross passage of the tunnel, where the worker was caught between parts of a construction machine. Emergency teams responded immediately, secured the site, and provided first aid to the injured worker before transporting him out of the tunnel. A temporary helicopter landing site was set up in a nearby field.

We are pleased that the worker’s health condition is improving and wish him a speedy recovery.
