2TDK is presenting itself at a professional railway forum in Sarajevo

2TDK presented at the event with a lecture focusing on the planning and construction of the second track in light of climate change, which affects railway infrastructure. The presentation was delivered by Nina Kolenc, Head of the Finance and Accounting Department at 2TDK, and Marko Žitnik, Head of the Technical Department at 2TDK. Attendees of the professional event listened with particular interest to updates on the progress of Slovenia’s largest infrastructure project and the methods that had to be employed during the construction of the second track due to the karst terrain. Since Bosnia and Herzegovina also has extensive karst terrain, participants were particularly impressed by the technically challenging solutions used to bridge karst caves during the construction of the Divača–Koper second track, some of which even spanned distances longer than 40 meters.

The event in Sarajevo brings together key stakeholders in the field of rail transport in the Danube region with the aim of promoting cross-border cooperation, improving interoperability, and investing in sustainable and resilient rail infrastructure. Cooperation and the exchange of best practices at such forums are key to successfully addressing future challenges and to the further development of a comprehensive and resilient railway network in the region.
