Second Track Presented at the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor Meeting

1. October 2026

Matej Oset, CEO of 2TDK, presented the Divača–Koper Second Track project at the “European Transport Corridor Meeting: Baltic Sea – Adriatic Sea.” The presentation focused on the project’s progress, its key features, and the role of the new line in improving the rail connection between the Port of Koper and its hinterland. The meeting took place as part of Connecting Europe Days 2026 in Brussels.

The second track is part of three European TEN-T corridors: the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor, the Mediterranean Corridor, and the Western Balkans–Eastern Mediterranean Corridor. In his presentation, Oset also explained the project’s impact on freight flows in the region. The new line will nearly triple freight transport capacity, from 12.7 to 36.9 million net metric tons per year, and improve access to markets in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.

He also touched on the parallel left-hand track, which represents the next step in the development of the rail connection between Divača and Koper and will enable the establishment of a full double-track line.
