Archaeological excavations are underway prior to the construction of the parallel left-hand track between Divača and Koper, and they have revealed new evidence of the area’s rich history. Archaeologists have uncovered the remains of a Roman rustic villa near Osp, and among the finds is the handle of an amphora dating from the 1st century A.D.
