The final pile under the gallery in the Glinščica Valley has been completed
The final pile under the gallery in the Glinščica Valley has been completed
In the area of the gallery in front of the Lokev tunnel (T1) from the Koper direction, 10 piles have been drilled, each 28 metres deep and 1.2 metres in diameter.
After the piles were drilled, they were reinforced and filled with concrete, representing an important step in ground stabilisation. The process of inserting the reinforcement cage into the borehole and concreting it can be seen in the accompanying video, which shows the execution of the final pile under the future gallery.
To prevent further ground movements above the tunnel, piling is a key initial stabilisation measure. Protection of the slope on the right side of the tunnel will also be required using deep geotechnical anchors up to 35 metres in length. Wells will also be constructed: the first and most important well for the stabilisation of the future railway line will be located between the main and service tubes. It will be surrounded by an additional 16 piles, each 10 metres deep. The well itself will be 30 metres deep with a diameter of 6 metres.
